because republicans are not for working people and they hate government. Their role is to always push profit one way and that's up.

As for govt. construction jobs building and maintaining bridges, highways, levees, etc., they constantly need to be repaired and rebuilt (entropy, donchaknow), so as long as they are being properly maintained, they keep creating jobs.
