Over the last 8 years, the Bush administration consistently sided with the pharmaceutical industry, and ignored all of the evidence that vaccines were causing higher rates of autism in America. But now that we've got a president who actually embraces science, we might finally see some action on this issue. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. discusses this issue with David Kirby, author of the book "Evidence of Harm - Mercury in Vaccines and the Autism Epidemic: A Medical Controversy."

11. Go ahead Vaccinate?

If you want to take a risk on your children with the current vaccination schedule then go right ahead. There are hundreds of stories of parents who take their otherwise normal child to get their multiple one visit vaccinations. The following days their child comes down with symptoms and is no longer their normal, developing self. People on here are calling bullshit, but I am not so sure they've looked at both sides of the argument. There is enough doubt to warrant caution with regard to the current scheduling.

Take these reports, which do not get covered much at all in the media. Nor does the very close correlation with increased vaccines and scheduling and the prevalence of Autism. Then you have pharma conducting most (if not all) of the studies that end up not showing a link. Side note: There was a study done on study outcomes. 79% of all studies were done by pharmaceutical companies. 90% of those studies returned favorable results to the sponsors medication. Additionally, studies funded by for profit institutions were more than 5 times more likely to recommend the test med.

I am a third year pharmacy student and we are being trained to push vaccinations. This is why you are seeing the massive push toward flu shots at your local pharmacy. A study just recently found that adults can do with just half the dose they are being administered today to help prevent flu. This dose is equivalent to what they administer to children 2+ yrs. You do the math... why are children being given a dose approximately 4 times what they may need? The fact is pharma hasn't done the studies. I've looked at both sides of this issue and there is enough grey area and as we all know Pharma is not always right and a potential outcome like Autism is not worth the risk.

While my child IS getting vaccinated, I refuse to adhere to the recommended schedule. My child will not get some/most vaccines. Some aren't even necessary. There are other schedules that are being recommended that are kinder to the childs developing immune system. To overload it at such a young age is entirely to risky.

RFK Jr has no credibility on this issue. I don't see how they expect that having "a president who actually embraces science" is going to benefit their woo-woo beliefs when the science says they're full of shit.

4. The Autism - Vaccine Link

There have been court cases where the courts did indeed said that the MMR vaccination caused autism. The Hannah Poling case was all the more interesting because she had a mitochondrial disorder which made her predisposed to autism because of the MMR vaccination. Hannah Poling's mother also had the mitochondrial disorder but it was not expressed because she never received the MMR vaccination. (Hannah Poling's father is a Neurologist... I guess that is not scientific enough for some people). Early testing of autistic children indicates over 50% have a mitochondrial disorder. The pharmaceutical companies have said the mitochondrial disorder that Hannah Poling suffers from is rare. Autistic children were never tested for the disorder before this court case, but they are being tested now.

A court case proves nothing in medicine. Which is good, because all the SCIENCE OUT THERE says the Autism/MMR vaccine links ARE COMPLETE AND UTTER BULLSHIT.

Nobody uses the "mercury" based preservative anymore, except in 3rd world countries.

2nd thing, I used to agree with you, but I took a chemistry class.

Sodium, if you eat it, will kill you.

Chlorine, if you breathe it, will kill you.

We all need salt in our diet, which is SODIUM CHLORIDE.

There are other other atoms in the preservative which means claiming there is "mercury" in it means nothing. It is a LIE. When in a compound, with other atoms, it takes on completely different properties.

And that is why I don't listen to you people anymore, and think that if you do not vaccinate your children, and other children die because of it, you should be tried for manslaughter.

Anyone that suggests we do not vaccine our children for fear of Autism, or worse, anyone that has falsified medical documents to try and create a link where none exists DESERVE TO BE IN PRISON!!

Period! Preferably for a long time. They are putting entire generations at risk unnecessarily.

HAS JUST BEEN PROVEN TO BE A BULLSHIT REPORT I think it's safe to say this is a wasted post.

Again, there is ZERO LINK between vaccines and autism, it's a damn shame that parents kept their children from getting vaccined all because some scientist decided to falsify data, and now shit like MMR is a problem again. It's fucking stupid.

the fact that obama embraces science means he will ignore people like RFK, Jr and side with the scientists who find this to be pure bull$hit. i'm shocked bush didn't side with the "anti-vacciners" since he usually went against science. i guess when science and business are in agreement he's stuck.
