1. I was an assistant manager in a BK franchise once
One of the crappy things I was taught to do was schedule workers for only four hour shifts. That way we did not have to pay them for taking breaks.
I also got in trouble with upper management for dropping the annualemployee turnover rate in my store from over 300% turnover rate to below 20%.The longer a person works there the more raises and benefits they will be due. Can't be having that.
I also got in trouble for pointing out that the increases in food costs were due to forces outside of the units control.Corporate would raise prices for commisary goods but we were not allowed to take that increase into consideration when calculating food costs. Then they would bitch because our food costs were rising.

FUCK BURGER KING.
I have not stepped foot into one of their stores since I quit and I do not plan on ever doing it again.I have gone miles out of my way to avoid them.

2. The same 6.5 billion dollars of taxpayer money that
Goldman-Sachs used for their bonuses could have put $18,000 into the pocket of every Burger King employee in the country (whose average income is $14,000 per year).
Read about it here, courtesy of Robert Greenwald and Brave New Films.

5. I wonder, what would they say if you told them many full time BK workers get food stamps
because they don't make a living wage?

American taxpayers are subsidizing Burger King's payroll, by giving their workers food stamps and medicare.

9. Thank you so much for this thread!
Every Friday night I let the kids eat at BK. That tradition has just come to a halt.
