Blackburn is such a skunk. Their spin is so feeble, so easily seen through, she must have been surprised to find a talking head who thought about it for five minutes.

2. That was a savaging compared to the way most anchors
treat most GOP congresspeople and their spin. Sanchez actually brought up the most egregious counter examples, which is almost never done on tv.

3. you're right, he did what few have done . . . try to hold republicans
accountable. her answers were weak and he did not call her on them but he DID bring them up. i guess i was hoping he would hammer her.

on another note . . . do most republican congresswomen only have to be pretty to get elected?

13. I left it feeling the same way

I have seen Rick Sanchez own people and this is not one of those examples. I have hated Rick Sanchez since basically the beginning of his career. Very reluctantly have I have started to gain respect for him after he did exactly what the title of this video suggests and actually rip some repugs apart that were peddling pure bs. I was expecting this video to be more like that. He let her off way to easily on basically all of her answers. She made it very clear that we are in this mess because the democrats have been in full control of both houses and ran up the deficit to 10+ trillion dollars? She left the idea that, sure Bush went from a surplus to 400B deficit, but that is nothing compared to democrats that will take it from 400 Billion to 3 Trillion. She got away with giving some impressions that made democrats look essentially completely responsible for the situation that we are in. Impressions that were unchallenged. In the end, I think that she actually came across smelling like a rose because she really had a good answer for all of the questions. She was definitely NOT owned.

Suggestion to Professor Plum.....there are some pros and cons to titling this post the way that you did. The pro side is that, sure, alot of people will watch it and read your post. The con is that after watching, they will think that it is pure bs and that you are full of shit.

14. Your mileage may vary, I suppose

I have no love for Sanchez, either, as he has been happy to smoke corporate pole for years now.

However, his move here - bringing up the missing _trillions_ in Iraq, shows that he is not unwilling to talk about the elephant in the room. The fact that the rich have just ripped off the government to the tune of trillions, without so much as giving us a receipt, blows all of the GOP's talking points out of the water. They can grouse about spending some money on this country, to make the lives of Americans better, but from my point of view the second he brought up that missing money, he WON that debate.

Of course the barbie doll wasn't going to back down from her pre-programmed points. You can't expect these folks to have any shame. But if I was watching that exchange on TV, I would say to myself, "Yeah, what about all of that missing money? I haven't heard the GOP say one word about it, act angry, or even open an investigation to find out where it went. They are full of shit as far as acting like they care about where our money goes".

So, from my perspective, Sanchez delivered a killing blow with that comment, showed the idiot up for the corporate theft shill that she was, and destroyed her talking points. All that phony nice-nice at the end was clearly a cover up - there was rage behind her eyes, and Sanchez was all like "come on back for more, I scored and you got nothing".

He brought up the most relevant point, showed her to be a liar and political opportunist of the worst kind, and did it with just one sentence. From my perspective, that's "nailed". Again, your mileage may vary, sorry you think I'm full of shit.

19. She didn't seem embarassed at all.
She promoted her talking points quite easily.

(I'd like to see the Mayor of Lansing question her).

20. I think that Cenk demonstrates the point that I was trying to make.
If Rick Sanchez answered her the way that Cenk did, you would see a much different reaction. Since he didn't, she got the last word. And a bunch of bs going unchallenged can come across as valid.

6. Sanchez let her off the hook at the end
when she compared Bushes +400B to "Obama's 3T". Why couldn't just point out that this money is an attempt to blunt a catastrophic economic disaster, which when all over will compare in pure misery only with the Great Depression.

He was so lovey dovey feelgood at then end. :puke:

7. Motherfucker Sanchez makes it sound as if Cllinton ran up a 5 trillion dollar debt....
Edited on Tue Feb-17-09 08:54 PM by LaPera
that 5 trillion dollar deficit goes back to Reagan who increase it six fold during his presidency from what Carter left the deficit at and Bush Sr increased the deficit even more which Clinton inherited.

Bush Jr. increased it by over five trillion just in his eight years all by himself (along with 12 years of a republican congress)....

The lying republican hag blames the Dems since Jan 07....then name one fucking bill the Dems passed in the two years that increased it....the republicans threatened filibuster on every spending bill they didn't like and Bush veto all he didn't like, (Dems didn't have enough votes to override Bush's many veto's and the republican bag wants to add the billions of Iraq and Afghanistan wars that has sunk us even deeper in debt as if its the Dems fault for those wars for corporate profit?

Then the lying republican lying witch wants to add all the bail out money to republican corporations trillions of dollars exclusively on the democrats as if Bush couldn't veto it, as if it wasn't Bush and republicans rule deregulation no oversight, Federal SEC looking the other way, corporations illegally making illegal loans and running wild, that absolutely caused the forced bail out of corporations "too big to fail".

And Sanchez mentions only billion dollars missing in Iraq....get fucking real dude, it's was over 57 billion dollars missing of our tax dollars missing in Iraq when republicans had complete control of our government....

How could anyone give credit to Sanchez for helping this lying republican pig guest get her lies across...where was a democrat to balance it....there's always republicans....

Precisely.

The MSM's mission has not changed (yet?) and it is to make Dems looks foolish and Repugs look infallible. Why is anyone even asking Repugs what they think. We know what they think. We've had an ear full since Newt's so-called "revolution".

Y'all saw that chart someone posted with the bar graph of how many Conservatives were on TV vs. how many Dems.

When are we gonna have a panel with 3 or 4 Dems and one Repug?

15. First off it is $23 Billion missing in Iraq. Secondly-the "Democrat" lead addition to the deficit
"since 2007" she says IS the TARP funds. She actually mentioned the TARP amounts right after claiming that the "Democrat lead Congress" added all that debt....I believe the Republicans voted for TARP too -I'd be interested in how she voted on it.

$23 Billion missing in Iraq

9. Same old BS!!!
Mention the damage republicans cause and then aid the unchallenged spinning republican to spin it as both sides did it.

Everything was fine until the dems blew the economy in Bush's last two years. Never asking what was the budget busting items passed by the dems that put the country in the shape it's in.

Of course she will be glad to come back for such a pointed thought provoking debate. After all somebody has to expose the corrupt deficit busting dems 2 year spending spree.

11. I like the way you're thinking-"Never asking what was the budget busting items passed by the dems"
in the last two years of Bushco.

Republican have been and will continue to repeat this lie every chance and on every show they can, and not one host interviewing a lying republican ever asks, or calls the republicans lying about it.

"Never asking what was the budget busting items passed by the dems that put the country in the shape it's in".

This has been bugging me for so long now, good call!

"the american people are worried about deficits..."

they are?

are these the same fucking people who are STARVING TO DEATH AND FREEZING TO DEATH????

Of course not. these are the fictional republican citizens and those rush listeners who wouldn't know their own interests if they got hit over the head with them because No child Left Behind was an EPIC AND DELIBERATE FAILURE.

17. lying bitch!
I am so tired of these people, everytime they show up on one of these shows these same questions need to be asked. I wonder why some people can't see that Republicons give out our money to everyone else with no questions asked but when it comes to us WE THE PEOPLE we have to jump through hoops to get whats ours these are the same people who claim that we hate America and they love it.

These people are insane! They give our money to millionares and billionares all over the world and here but don't give a damn about our own country.
