Rachel Maddow interviews Brandon Neely, a former guard in Guantánamo, about his experiences there on MSNBC-TV, Tuesday, February 17.

2. a lot of things cause you to gain weight.

i dunno ive id be so quick to narrow it down to that assumption.

depression and guilt in general can cause people to eat more... and eat less for that matter... depends on the person.

I wouldn't be surprised. If so, he should not be judged for it. Remember, I've had experience talking to dead relatives, so I'm certainly not going to judge.

I thought he must be working his way through PTSD. His affect was kind of flat. I hope others come forward, and good for him for doing so.

8. PTSD can be caused by many things

It may be from action he saw in Iraq or at Gitmo. Or both.

13. OK but you might want to warn people or change the link when you notice such things

There is a danger of being discredited by using such a link, by the people who like to accuse anyone who points out the war crimes of Israel as anti-semitic, for example. I used your link elsewhere but fortunately caught it and changed it in time before that happened.

12. We need all vets, no matter which 'war' they served in to come forward

They need to tell their stories so that everyone gets a real vision of what war is not the glorified crap the government pushes.
