2. I honestly think it bizarre that this is causing such a stir, when

Ryan was allowed to finish out his term before being hauled off to prison. People need to stop letting the Tribune tell 'em what to think.

Yeah, Burris is a lousy choice for Senator, but he'll just hold the seat, vote as he's told, and be gone in two years. And, unlike Ryan, he won't have caused any deaths.

3. I think the reason it's causing such a stir is more to do with who chose him and how rather than

Burris himself. The whole thing is just a messy embarrassment that won't end until Burris goes, IMHO.
