how are dems supposed to get on television? they can't even get on the corporate-owned media now and THEY WON THE ELECTION! what happened to 'the party in power gets the guest spots'? i'm seeing as many republicans on the talk shows as democrats.

i hear people all the time saying that there were no protests during king george's reign. well, that's just not true. what IS true is that the media did not show the millions who protested against the war or free trade or any other thing that georgie and his pals did. h*ll, we were barely advised of the 'free speech' zones . . . or of the protesters arrested or shot shot by jack-booted police.

i will agree that we have some wimpy, aka blue dog, dems but many democratic congress critters worked hard to expose the bush monarchy . . . even from the basement. it still did no good because the MSM WOULD NOT COVER IT.

thank god for the internet . . . and i am disappointed in lewis black who is very much a favorite of mine.

10. Well, you're disappointed in me, too

the Democrats in congress have been either incredibly inept or complicit in the crimes of the Bush years. I would say that fully 100% of the Republicans and half of the Democrats are in on the big heist. Our true representation in Congress (and by "our" I mean real people and citizens) is very small indeed.

To pretend that Senators, of all people, are helpless, is to make excuses for some of the wealthiest and most powerful politicians in the world.

i know that our 'side' has some cronies and crooks too. i prefer to believe that we will get some good out of our congress critters. we have had some GREAT leaders from the dem side of the aisle and may have a whole new bunch now. i'm hoping obama is real and that he is contagious.

so bash if it makes you feel better. i'm looking for the pot of gold, myself. it's that old hippie idealism that i just never could rid myself of. :hippie:

because if they were STRONGER (AKA more aggressive) they WOULD be on television more and our issues WOULD get more attention..



sure, we have intelligent people in the party... but we dont have anybody with ambition for anything outside of themselves personally and the longevity of their career...a career, which is something that should NEVER be mixed into politics... being a politician ISNT a job, its an honor and a duty to the rest of the people who live here.

i was really hoping and still am that obama is that type of person, but im afraid im going to be severely disappointed(dont get me wrong, im glad hes there and wouldnt have it any other way).
i just dunno tho, the days of ideological revolutionaries in the united states seems to have ended... sure, there are those out there with ideals... but NEVER action. fear. fear has gripped us all. we are all afraid. of someone, of something, of some consequence to actions.

sure, this fear is sometimes a great thing to have... as it can tend to keep you out of trouble or outa public scrutiny.... but in the realm of politics it is unacceptable. you must believe in what you stand for and then follow through by any rational means necessary, whether it means the sacrifice of your entire being on a person level or not.
there are no more risk takers. not politically in the united states. what we consider risks these days are really just cold calculations and a sick game of cat and mouse.

we will over come.

my biggest fear is that we are in the verge of the greatest chance in history for drastic change on a social and political level in the united states, and we are going to miss it. miss the chance to change it all for the better.

they are finally starting to reap what they have sowed in the free economy and production is crumbling. greed has finally taken its toll on the upper class.

the time is now.

the time for revolution has finally come, but who be the first to stand up?

i guess we'll let the fear decide, like we always do.

any dem on tv. how are they supposed to get on? buy the tv station? the guests don't decide who appears. just as very few of the protests of bush's years ever saw the klieg lights, so did not many dems make it on the talk show panels.

how are they supposed to get on a show which does not want them to appear?

thank god for c-span . . . and keith olbermann. keith may be totally full of himself now but at least he finally got to fight the catapulting of the propaganda.

How many times did they say the right thing, get in the news, and then FUCKING TAKE IT BACK the next day?

How many times did they publicly squabble among themselves instead of attacking the enemy?

I can't stand when people excuse wrong behavior because they're on our team. The people in congress who stood up are heroes; the ones who screwed us are not much better than Bushies. Even if they're not as openly evil as a Bushie, that they hide behind "I'm a coward , what can I do?" type rhetoric, the result for the country is the same.
We're in Iraq with their help, and they helped destroy the economy. No excuse.
