Your distance calculation has no meaning without a time unit attached to it. At 60 mph, a vehicle travels 88 ft in one second. At that same speed, the vehicle would travel the length of a football field (300 ft.) in about 3 1/2 seconds!
In any case, The cell phone records of anyone involved in an auto accident should be audited to make sure there was no activity at the time of the collision. If cell phone activity is indicated, hire a good lawyer and make sure they pay for their stupidity.

I've kicked basketball-sized dents in the side of some assholes cars as they are gabbing away and changing lanes right into me. Seems to get their attention. Or momentarily interrupt their super important fucking conversation.

I wish they would stop installing cloaking devices in motorcycles. I've given up trying to 'be visible', and just opt for as many escape routes as possible. Nobody sees me. I've lost count of the number of close calls.

I've seen people drive through red lights; I've seen people stopped at a red light then drive through it when the light is still red; I've seen people almost slam into other cars--you know, the big, metal things with wheels that most other drivers can readily see--all while they were using a cell-phone.

Enviro-Bat and others should be seen as doing a service by only putting a dent in these idiots' cars instead of having someone end up injured or dead because these idiots on cell-phones are so self-absorbed that they cannot attend to the serious and dangerous task of driving a vehicle.

the poster started his post saying "I hate these fuckers" "They should go to fucking jail for this shit", the poster said that this made him angry enough to do something like damage a car. Sounds like an angry person that could do something violent, which he has by damaging a car. Road rage is a serious issue. I cut someone off a few years ago, a case of me not seeing him in my blind spot, totally my fault. When I got to the light he came out of his car with a baseball bat and I had to speed away at a red light, endangering the motorists in the other lane. My brother was assaulted at a red light by a guy a few years ago and the guy got arrested. He should seek help before the kicking of a car becomes something more. It is a short jump.

In his post, nowhere does he say he dented the car because THE CAR WAS ABOUT TO RUN HIM OVER, as you put it. Go back and read his post, he starts his post saying he "hates those fuckers" or something like that, and he says "those people should go to fucking jail". Which is completely unreasonable, then he said he kicks and dents the cars of people that are texting while driving. Not that those cars almost hit him.

Yelling doesn't help. One way or another, the only way you're going to get the driver's attention is by impacting his vehicle. A foot is better than you and your entire bike.

I've been hit by people just crossing in the crosswalk. People don't check the crosswalk when making a free right. They are just looking left for that hole in the traffic. I've dented at least 4 cars. That's what happens when you end up on the hood. No one has ever threatend me for it. In fact, they've all been extremely apologetic, because they know they just fucked up.
