8. Not just that -- they're reducing prayer to some kind of magical juju

It was the "why isn't he setting an example of praying in public now when the country could really use it" part that got to me.

It's clear that for the fundies prayer has degenerated into some sort of conjuring trick that you use to bring good mojo on your friends and curse your enemies -- and that sticking the name of Jesus on it is just a way to add some extra super-heterodyned magic jazz. But these Fox people are bringing that same bizarre belief system out in public, when you'd think they'd at least be a bit embarrassed to acknowledge it so openly.

These people aren't Christians. They aren't even bad Christians -- who might lapse a little around the edges or toss in a streak of hypocrisy -- or heretics with strange beliefs about salvation and money. They're not Christians of any kind. They're simply scavengers, picking over the corpse of a once-great religion for bits to use in their sorceries. And that's a damn shame.
