Thought this was very much an interesting 'chess move' if you will by President Obama. No doubt Huntsman realizes with the way the GOP is going ultra-conservative-bible-fanatical, there was no room in the tent for him, a mormon and moderate - and Obama was more than willing to welcome him aboard for the common cause of the country. And in the meantime, the Republicans lose another tent pole - and those that were helping to hold it up.

The GOP is going from a three-ring circus to a dime store sideshow - but isn't it lovely.

"let him be promoted, and removed", meaning give the opponent a job they cannot refuse, but one that will render them incapable of getting in your way or giving support to your enemies.

2. Shrewd Obama Move

This was a very shrewd move on the part of Obama as he would have been in the running for the republican nomination in 2012. I wonder if he will pull a "Judd Gregg" (i.e pull out at the last minute) before he gets confirmed by the Senate?
