1. I say give us their names and addresses and let us check and see what they are up to.
Whether they returned to terrorism or just took up terrorism as a hobby is a mute point since this is all Dick Cheney's wet dream as near as I can tell. If the US knows so much about these guys, and they are so bad, then let's arrest them again.

2. I don't get it.
Isn't it 2 in 3 criminals that reoffend after being to prison? Why are they still being let go after their sentence is up?

3. From what I understand...
A significant number of the detainees were rounded up based on here-say from people who were rewarded with money for the "tip". Basically, the U.S government put up a bounty and all people had to do to get the money was point a finger. This is a large part of the concern and call for having trials within the U.S court system that requires evidence and proof. Some people posit that the existence of Gitmo as a recruiting tool for terrorist organizations like Al Quaeda is based on this unwarranted theft of people and that is why some of the people released are joining them.

Also, the government makes the assertion that these people are going into "terrorist activities" even if all they do is give an interview where they talk about their detention by the U.S.

The people who say we have to keep Guantanamo open seem to be part of the problem because the very existence of Guantanamo is part of the problem.
