Unfortunately I don't trust Powell either, he is essentially a weak person, willing to be used like a tool, re the WMD speech that his own chief of staff says was a "hoax on the American people". Powell should hide his face in shame for life. And THIS is the guy who is the half-decent alternative of the Republican party!

2. We are on the verge of total vindication

of all those who took the side that said the party should go after Limbaugh and aggressively. (Others said it was best to ignore Limbaugh)

We've tied to the GOP to Limbaugh and they are losing members because of Limbaugh. We've elevated Limbaugh's profile so more seen what the GOP is made of. Best of all, we've started fight within the GOP which is bound to do them some serious damage.

Limbaugh will never back down or shut up so this could go all the way. If enough of the party leadership throws Limbaugh overboard he'll respond by telling his 20 million dittohead zombies not to support the GOP anymore. That would be lethal to the GOP as it exists now. They'd have to reorganize into a more reasonable organization. All because of a few well placed punches that some said would be counterproductive.
