She had to be at least 18, which means that she was born around 1939. Surely, Mr. Liddy noticed that women change as they age -- and that many women enjoy the freest, best years of their lives from at least one point of view of, i.e., the amount of physical pain they have to bear on a regular basis, at 50-something. Maybe his wife hasn't experienced this. Or maybe he doesn't pay any attention to her feelings.
