There's plenty of food in America but the income gap has created such deep inequality that some 50 to 60 million Americans cannot afford enough food for their families. They are the working poor and as Sasha Abramsky notes in his new book, Breadline USA, they reveal the shortcomings of America's social safety net. Or what's left of it.

25% of our children living in poverty -- hunger.

And we still call this "America" as though it means something honorable?
