1. Mike Malloy is right..
I don't like the Malloy show - rant plus nothing. But it's what's on as I drive home from work. Occasionally I listen.
Having said that, I couldn't agree with him more when he berates the "poison" of right-wing, corporate sponsored media as it pours over America like a tsunami every day.

That is the only thing that makes a health-care "debate" even possible. It is the smothering of all things simple and common-sense that keeps people working against their own self-interest.

It is the confusion caused by denying vast numbers of Americans people easy access to the speech Bernie gave here that is the sole reason that Single Payer doesn't win in a landslide. The marginalization of everyone like Bernie - the meme that listening to what he has to say is naughty - maybe disloyal or something...... is all that stands in the way.

And yet, that's everything. Stumbling onto Bernie on the Internets just can't compare to the overwhelming message, delivered into homes automatically everyday via traditional Tee Vee and AM radio, that once you've stumbled onto Bernie and his suspicious, fringe speech, you must turn away or come under that same suspicion!

And yet, what's in the "dangerous" speech above? Dollars and sense. Talk of market inefficiencies. Supply and demand and profits. CNBC stuff! "Get what you are paying for". As traditional an American idea as you can get!

But.... the poison. The massive, daily doses of intellectual hallucinogens delivered to every corner of this poor, old country.

Perhaps only a new generation of Americans with no habitual connection to trad. Tee Vee and radio (I count myself a proud member of that generation - even tho' I am 53!).... only a massive, reflexive turn away from the poison will end the tyranny. And speeches like the one in this video will get heard.
