We had thousands of crazy humans desperately following the kid in the balloon.

When he is not found, we then had MILLIONS wondering where he was,
where he fell out.

No one was thinking.

Do the simple physics.
Do the simple math.
Do a simple observation.

Figured it out yet?
Okay- a little clue:

Ever had a HELIUM BALLOON as a kid?
Ever tried to lift something with it heavier than a thimble?

Clue #2:
Figure the VOLUME of the Balloon.

Roughly 15 feet in diameter, 3-5 feet thick at the center,
tapering to the sides.

Just looking at it on TV- You can calculate the volume at no
more than 200 cubic feet, holding 200 cubic feet of helium.

Got it yet?

How much does a 6 year old boy WEIGH?

Answer: normally 40something pounds.

Here's what you get when you add these pieces together-

A 200 cubic foot helium balloon can lift
13 pounds. 1 cubic foot of helium can lift .067 pounds.

It would be IMPOSSIBLE for this craft to lift a 6 year old into
the air.

I thought the cameras were staying on the family (split screen) just to show how non-responsive the parents were to the children.
