2. Prince strikes me as a guy who likes to swagger a lot.
He probably kind of played the role of "leader" in the sense that Bush did. Someone else does most of the thinking and the toughest planning and carry-through work. I am just guessing based on the way he moves and acts. I've known and worked with his type. They like to take credit for the work of others. He has a lot of money. Maybe that is his contribution. Maybe he lost his contract because he didn't really deliver quality work. That is verified by the fact that his agents killed civilians in reckless ways.

The military should do the military work. We should not hire mercenaries like this. They just are not bound by the same code of loyalty that soldiers are. It isn't fair to our soldiers who make huge sacrifices for our country and really aren't that well paid.

5. Psychological profile: Sociopath
Erik Prince is a pretty clever fellow. He believes he is more clever than everyone else in Washington. Actually he probably IS more clever than almost all senators and congressmen. The game he is playing now is CYA. You can be sure that he has set up all his business as corporate, thus removing his personal liability. He is now moving his assets further to distance himself from the shitstorm that is heading his way.

We should not dismiss him as simply a vain cowboy, a dimwit like Dubya. He was a Navy SEAL, and that takes some gumption. Combine that with secretive fundamentalist Christianity, right-wing politics, a vast personal fortune, many DC connections, and a textbook sociopathic personality, and you have a big problem in the event he gets the upper hand. If he has his way, the entire US would be in 24-hour lockdown, "for our own safety", like in New Orleans after Katrina.

Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel.

6. Sure. Yet while he was "undercover"... he was way more dangerous.
I use "undercover" in the loose sense, since
everyone paying the slightest attention could see
the Blackwater ops were wayyyy beyond security.

Assassination squads. Out of control killers.
Shades of Jason Borne.

Preditor drones indiscriminately killing civilians...
that is a goddamn "war crime".

This animal needs to be tried and executed.

But more:

I'm waiting for another shoe: News that Prince himself
ran the torture operations using psychopaths he found.

I take him for an animal that other animals selected as a weapon
of criminality and war. Now find the "other animals". They
are still the "hidden" danger to America.
Try them. Hang them. I got a clue who they might be.

(* actually, I oppose the death penalty on various principles,
but find myself wavering on whether those principles
include this situation.)

7. I don't doubt that he is intelligent.
I just had to work with some people like him. I'm conscientious. They were not. They dumped work on me and took the money and the credit. I was essentially the worker-bee. Kind of sours you on this type. I doubt that this is true of Prince, but the guys I knew who were like that were also alcoholics. Any excuse to escape responsibility. In fact, one of them admitted to me that when he was accused of wrongdoing, he fell back on the excuse that he was an alcoholic and just needed rehab.

8. There is a secret war and not even CIA knows about it might be the real news

The implications that a mercenary army was working outside the military and intelligence structure under Bush/Cheney are beyond belief. This is not about a "squad" at all.
