Democracy Now's Amy Goodman is passionate about solving climate change. She's seen the damage it has already done to some small island nations. She tells The UpTake's Mike McIntee why she and Democracy now has come to Copenhaagen for the UN Climate Change Conference. She also says that corporate media is blocking action on climate change and suggests people fight back by supporting independent media such as Democracy Now and The UpTake.

A lot more videos from Copenhagen, here: http://www.youtube.com/user/UpTakeVideo#g/u

This video is getting seriously trolled by deniers, probably paid for by the Koch Foundation.

1. "Not asleep at the switch. Consciously preventing the debate from happening."
The point that Amy makes about active efforts on the part of corporations from preventing real discussion of climate change is so important.

Far too many people who recognize the colossal problem of climate change are miffed by corporate media and corporate-sponsored politicians (meaning most of them), charging them with being incompetent, cowardly, or inattentive, when they are none of the above. These are groups who are acting deliberately and decisively to squelch discussion and action on climate change.

3. Yup. You will NEVER hear this
concept voiced on the M$M, NEVER. And it is this way on many issues.

5. It's a shame...
...that not enough US citizens take this seriously.

It's not a side issue, it's THE issue of our time!
