Watching that prayer group really creeped me out. It's always worrisome when our so-called leaders in the form of elected representatives claim that God is on their side, and by doing so, use religion to support their own political agenda, which has nothing to do with God. It's also another one of their dog and pony shows intended to have an impact on a certain group of non-thinking ignorant people. What's worse is that they're such liars and hypocrites.

They are zealots and are determined to impose their will on the entirety of society. They are firmly convinced that they are doing the will of God and that their cause is ordained by God Himself. It is not in the least surprising that they are willing to distort the issues to the very point of actually lying.

People would be well advised to not discount them as laughable buffoons. George Bush was a prime example of this type of zealot who accepted the PNAC policies of the United States domination of the Middle East as the will of God. He firmly believed that he had been chosen by God Himself to "liberate and democratize" these misled people. Every measure that a person who claimed to be driven by religious principle would find to be abhorrent, he and his cabal of fascists henchmen didn't hesitate to use. These included massive bombing of innocent people in their "Shock and Awe" campaign of mass murder, torture of detainees, out right lies, unrestricted Orwellian intrusion of every citizen's right to privacy...The list needs not to be magnified; it is well know to all.

The point that I want to make is that this is typical of zealots who justify their immoral and illegal actions as justified in view of the dire situation and the need to save society from itself. It is a ploy as old as mankind. They are employing the same tactics that were used by Hitler and if they are not confronted will achieve in creating the same reign of hell that he and his minions created for the naive Germans who swallowed their propaganda. They have to be confronted and firmly challenged and not have free reign to spread their distortions unopposed.
