2. What an arrogant, freaking liar Ensign is.
He needs to resign. Nevada has enough embarrassment with its governor.

17. No no no.

Ensign knows we now 'look forward' in this country. At the current time, depending on personal connections, any perceived malfeasance can or might be simply a misunderstanding.

He has EVERY CONFIDENCE that he will be completely exonerated of any wrong doing. I think he is right.

Remember, Ensign isn't some low level street drug dealer.

24. BINGO!
The downward spiral is supported by the faith of gawd being on your side. One may do as one pleases because we're all just sinners anyway and gawd loves him some Repugs so forgiveness requires nothing but praising his name. Amen.

5. Why Is Sanchez Doing This?
No other "journalists" ask direct, fact based questions of criminals like Ensign, Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc...Who the hell does he think he is? A real journalist? Obambi would not approve.

9. Go, Rick Sanchez!
Imagine that! A journalist who is (a) smart enough to understand the role of a free press in a democratic society and (b) conscientious enough and ballsy enough to do his part.

I hope others in the media take note and emulate.

12. When Dems have affairs they resign in disgrace-
when repugs do it they stay in office and become even bigger assholes.

20. Except Clinton, Baucus did not resign ...
...hey I am a die hard Dem here, frankly I could give a rip about affairs or where these people go to bed, I just need to know they are ethical in the offices they are elected to serve. Clinton I have to say signed some bills with which I vehemently disagree and for which I wish I could give him a piece of my mind about, but it was perfectly legal and ethical ~ for a politician, and I could care less who gave him blow jobs, looks like she did not make out too well for it, lol.

But Baucus, what a tool for the Health Industries as well as "paving the way" for his mistress/girlfriend's cherry job. If anyone deserves some scrutiny, it is also Baucus who did much the same as this Rethug counterpart. I just do not take well to hypocrisy no matter what party they come from ...

My 2 cents

22. Good point
Eliot Spitzer & Jim McGrevey come to mind.

What was so different between Spitzer & the guy from Louisiana, Vitter?

26. Except ...
...Spitzer as Attorney General was supposed to uphold the laws of his state as his JOB was being the upholder of the state laws in both offices. Vitter also broke the law, but he was a law MAKER, which is a little different, though still as a law maker, he should uphold them or change them.

Granted anti-prostitution laws are stupid laws, still unless they are changed, these office holders need to uphold laws, especially laws they pretend to agree with, not break them.

My 2 cents

28. Spitzer was governor when he resigned
Edited on Fri Jan-01-10 06:00 PM by NewJeffCT
He was AG before becoming governor, though. And, McGrevey had not broken any laws - he just had had an affair, but had not done anything illegal that I recall.

13. Ensign is one slimy dog...
He gets away w/an affair, pays off the woman and her husband, does all inds of unethical things, then expects the good people of Nevada to just say..."OK, fine by us".

If this were a D, the R's would be calling for his head on a platter on the Senate floor. He must be a psychopath, he has absolutely no sense of conscience, and laughs at those who elected him. An incredible asshole.

23. Bottom line: it's gonna be up to the people of Nevada to rid the Senate of this scumbag.
The Dems won't do it and, for sure, the Republicans won't.

Rec.

I applaud Rick Sanchez for his tenacity, but it would make me feel better if he wasn't so apologetic in his approach. Just lambast the SOB and get it done with.
