Schiphol airport in the Netherlands is to introduce full-body scanners for passengers travelling to the United States after a failed airline bomb plot on Christmas Day.

The airport, which will begin the measures within three weeks, was used by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the Nigerian man accused of trying to detonate a bomb on a flight to Detroit on December 25.

1. I'd like to know who they are buying them from.

The man who helped lose a US city in 2005, emerged last week to lecture the WH on National Security. There was no sense of irony apparent in his appearances to sell the idea that the only way to keep Americans safe was to use full body scanners. Not one Media anchor asked him about his own failure to protect Americans even with two full days of advanced warnings. Nor did he reveal how he stands to profit from the purchase of these scanners.

Fear! As Greg Palast said, selling fear is a very profitable business.

It's hard to find fault with those who wonder about this latest scare and the days and days of coverage it received. If Chertoff and his friends really were worried about the 'safety of the American people', they would be pushing their party to do something about our deadly Health Care System which since 9/11 has been responsible for over 400,000 American fatalities. At the very least this could be viewed as criminally negligent murder, and the same could be said about the fatalities that occurred in NOLA, under Chertoff's, the now-expert on national security, watch.

The hypocrisy is enough to make me sick, and the failure of the media to challenge people like this when they get the chance ~ Instead, he's given the respect that ought to be reserved for people of integrity.

2. How come their pictures look like the drawings of a 5 year old?

We have these high tech pictures from our super-duper full body scanners. Personally speaking, I am thinking that if the pictures it showed are more like a 5 year old's drawing, then something that looks like your actual body, more people would be accepting of them. The important thing is what is on the body and not the body itself, so can't they tone down the detail of the body images? Even have it replaced with a generic image of the body.

making existing investors, much, much richer than they already are. Isn't that just peachy?

4. I'm disgusted by my own government.

They jump on every terror-plot to further butcher our privacy. You have no idea how EAGER they are to do such things! It's sickening. I'm sure they're celebrating the terror attempt, for it gave them the opportunity to control their citizens even more.

Great-Britain, Italy and Germany are next.

5. So the next time, the bomb is transported in a body cavity.

But if everyone is required to check-in 48hrs prior to departure, and all rest-room visits are monitored, I have no doubt that we will be safe when flying.
