What have the Republicans done for America lately? Or in the past couple decades?

That's what Chris Matthews pressed Republican strategist Todd Harris about during Hardball on Wednesday.

Matthews repeatedly asked for examples, while citing negative examples like Bush-era spending bills, Katrina, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Harris tried to keep the focus on the 2010 elections and expressed hope that Democrats would keep going after Bush so the GOP could stay on message about being a balance against the current Democratic leadership.

Matthews suggested one answer, which Harris latched onto. "The Bush administration kept the country safe," said the guest.

"Except the one big day," the host shot back.

"YouTube is watching," he told Harris. "You're the Republican consultant. One of the best in the country. Tell me what the Republican party has done for this country in the last ten to 20 years."

Harris stayed silent.

"Thank you," Matthews said to his recurring GOP guest as he closed the segment. "We'll have you back with the answer."

8. When Chris Matthews gets his Irish up

he is the best TV talking head at squashing conservatives one on one. He doesnt do it often enough, but if he did it all the time he probably wouldnt be so effective. I think he catches them a little by surprise when he grabs on one point and wont let go.

The guy doesn't know how to conduct an interview. Constantly talks over his guests no matter what side they are on. He is so in love with his own voice and constantly repeats himself. He is so in love with his own voice and constantly repeats himself.

5. The scary thing is that Republicans do not look at what has been accomplished

This is not a group that is focused on facts and reality and may not vote based on what the Republicans have accomplished (or prevented from accomplishing). We might say, look at how they prevent anything from happening. They will say that "We are in the minority and that is our reason". It is an easy justification for a Republican to make to themselves. From an intellectual standpoint, you might think that these folks will surely look at the obstructionism and lack of contributing to running our country and say .... No way! Any non-biased, intelligent person would. But I don't think that is what we are dealing with. Based on the strong rhetoric by the whackos on TV/Radio and the rate at which people eat this shit up, never checking any facts, these idiots could have a very real chance of very big, very bad change in 2010. Couple that with the Democrats inability to counter even the most obvious lies, it is not a good sign. The worst part is that Senator Obama is no longer around. We are stuck with President Obama, who is completely different. It is like watch invasion of the body snatchers and his base DOES notice. More than his base, really.

did the same thing to a dem strategist. He asked him what Senator Obama had accomplished in the senate and the strategist had nothing more to offer than a blank stare.

18. Predictions Anyone?

In one sense this Republican shit head is right; Democrats have shown cowardice since Barack has taken the keys (and for the last few decades actually) and blaming Republicans is really a joke at this point. The Democrats should be bullet proof but they're not. They're not because they are not supposed to be. They are corporate shills starting from the top down.

What will voters do? I think a lot of Democrats will give up. Ya know "I voted for Obama--he fucked me in the ass--now fuck it all." A terribly damaging attitude to take by the way. Others on the margins may swing right because they're morons. Others, like myself, will vote left no matter what and work to raise the gene pool of Liberal candidates and voter awareness while pursuing reforms in the election process and corporate invasion of government.

Will we loose seats? My guess? Yes.

This was the set up of the decade to come and corporations and Democratic scum in congress (and the executive branch) have made it clear they don't give a fuck about "changing" much of anything. There is one real party:

The Unified Corporate Party and its two players.

He's a big fashion-follower, too. Once you take all this into account, it becomes easier to make sense of him. A lot of his appearance of being bipolar or erratic, is due to his whipsawing between his moderate conservative inclinations and his posturing as a liberal. He sure does like to go after the easy targets like birther, Cheney, and the Bush-era GOP record. Those are slam dunks and help give him undeserved cred as a liberal, but he doesn't fool me for a minute. He actually dislikes and opposes liberalism. I love Tweets as the entertaining host of an enjoyable and informative political variety show, but I harbor no illusions about him.
