but I'm pretty sure that a Chinese delegation met with Bush's financial team shortly (maybe a week or two) before Paulson announced there was a crisis.

I have no direct evidence but suspect that Obama's financial team do not want us to know how much money went to the Chinese. It struck me back then that the timing of the visit by the Chinese suggested some pressure or negotiating or something going on with regard to that.
