They also interview Micahel Hammer from the National Security Council and report on frustrated British rescue workers stuck next door in the Dominican Republic.

6. I guess you're right...we shouldn't help them
We should wallow in guilt over the actions of dead people.

3. Italy
Edited on Fri Jan-15-10 04:37 AM by Tx4obama

Yesterday on the front page of www.Corriere.it - the Italian newspaper online
there was a link there to an article that quoted President Obama THEN the Pope.
Italy is very interested in what our president has to say even above what the Pope has to say.
I am very proud that the WORLD holds OUR president in high esteem.

I've was in Italy in 2000 (10 days), 2002 (three months), and 2004 (three months) --- and each time I was there I was ashamed to have to tell people that I was from the USA because the Italian people hated Bush, now it is a different story. Italy now LOVES the USA :)

5. Makes me proud, very proud, that our people can do so much...
so quickly.

It is a shame the Brits in the DR could not get in, but that appears to be more of a problem concerning flight patterns than anything else, (there are choppers and roads though).

Logistics have to be a nightmare, but that is one of the things the military excels at. Let the matériel, pushers have a free hand, and there will plenty to eat and drink for those that need it, and then some.

I am impressed that the most of the world has come to the aid of Haiti...this has nothing to do w/politics or anything other than helping fellow human beings get past this disaster. If we can do something to shore up Haiti after this, we need to continue to act positively.

If there is any bright side to this catastrophe, it is that the world can now see that positive things can be done when necessary, but the reality of the larger picture is to ensure that when catastrophe strikes, there is an infrastructure in place that can deal with it.
