1. The problem with that is we have been conditioned.

"Holding them accountable happens, seemingly, only in the voting booth.
Like what's happening in Mass. In its attempt to hold Obama and the Dems "accountable, the voters of that commonwealth are willing to elect a centerfold model who doesn't "believe" in evolution to fill a seat simply to say one word over and over and over - NO.
I am quite active as a concerned citizen but I can't keep up with the number of communications I feel I need to make to my representatives.
How does the average (and that's me) hold anyone in Congress accountable when the banks and insurance companies own them.

4. You are so right ...one day, every two or four years

They day after we vote for the most Progressive (appearing) of the lot, our power ends. Once in power, they do what their special interests or party elders have strategized. How many House Progs signed any number of resolutions NOT to fund wars, NOT to vote for a health plan without a public option...etc. Then, they do it. Often under pressure from WH or Dem Party.

As for accountability, THEY are the ones that decide who gets censured, impeached, investigated and/or stripped of chairmanships. They don't think about us until fundraising time. I love Thom and listen daily, but on this he is too much the boy scout.

2. Thom said something so right on today about extremists.

He said extremists on the right favor violence and extremists on the left favor stupidity (I hope I'm not mangling that too badly). It made me laugh out loud.

I am addicted to his hour on FSTV. :)

5. I like Thom but I am more listening to the radio shows ...

that keep me inspired about how we get from a to b, than dwelling on how things aren't all they could be. Too much negativity simply demoralizes the base. I respect his approach bu5 for me I'm keeping everything on the positive from this point. We'll have lots of time to be downbeat if the Republicans at some point regain power, trust me, lots. Hartmann or any other show shouldn't be deterred form calling things out, for me I just need to be more inspired to keep the train rolling till we reach the GOP stop sign. I don't even mind some pessimism in the shows it's valid I just want to know what keeps us moving forward too.
