1. anyone guess that Kaptur would be the newest Senator if she was up against Brown?

Democrats can carry the torch of change - they just need reinforcement and follow through

2. Marcy was a warrior against all the insane corporate trade deals back in the early 1990s
and continues today being one of the REAL Democrats in Congress.

5. Goldman Sacks Blankfein showers himself in 2006 with 157 million dollars?
Congressman Kaptur does a splendid job with her line up of the four banksters.

red states. We need a relentless onslaught of outrage till the banks will have no choice but be independently regulated and broken up. The same can be done with climate change if we never let folks forget that the knock on effects of the climate degrading is more and more natural disaster, if they can live with that we'll do status quo if not they might just push their Republican senators the right way, sure it's an outlandish hope but what it's all I can hold out for at this point. The jobs bill maybe more easy at this point surely even crazy wingnuts want jobs???

11. WTG Kaptur. Here is a perfect example
Edited on Thu Jan-21-10 07:32 AM by dotymed
of the change in our economy since I was in H.S. in the '70's. I was telling my teenage son last night. When I was 15 y.o., I started on a framing crew (carpentry) and I was paid $8.00 an hour. The average concert ticket was $12-$15.00. I could (and did) afford to attend hundreds of concerts. There is no way, that he (or most any teenager) can get paid $8.00 an hour while in H.S.(30 years later) .Now the price of a concert ticket is $50.-$100.00 average. We earn much less money now, and the prices have gone up astronomically. I was 12 y.o., paid $5.00 to attend my first concert. "Blood Sweat & Tears"... Our children have no where close to the same opportunities we had (if you are over 40). This fact alone, should wake us up and make us realize that our children can not expect to have even the the same meager lifestyle that we enjoyed. Of course the bankers did not (by law) bring home million$ a year. Workers, even though the minimum wage was lower) were paid much more and things were 1/4 the price then. We have become slaves working to pay the "company store." I can see why some people call for reparations. We all deserve reparations now. Just limiting and/or Taxing the wealthy at previous rates (pre-Reagan) would improve the lives of at least 80% of Americans. Of course, making Unionization and the accompanying wage increases, a much easier proposition too. We are slaves of the wealthy/elite and we have to break our chains or condemn our children to a life of slavery. Also, without the Glass-Steagal Act to slow the greed of financiers and Corporations, all other "changes" are pretty meaningless if we care about the future of our children. Publicly financed elections would save our country trillions of dollars, while forcing our politicians to represent "we the people" instead of the corporate/wealthy/elite slave owners. They own about 95% of us. The old slave songs (beautiful and haunting) are so relevant in these times. Fascism has taken over our country, let's take it back.
