1. I can't post about this anymore. I have heart failure
and I can not believe how stressed this has made me. The future of my children will be terrible.

2. I'm sorry. I hope you are ok.
We can help I think by simply helping this organization in its drive for an amendment.

6. I know how you feel.
I told my husband this morning that because of this ruling I either have to get off my ass and start working harder to change things, again. Or I will have to start drinking heavily on a daily basis. I have not made up my mind yet.

9. Plug for moderation in drinking only, not our politics.
The cracks are there now. If you wait, it will require significantly more effort later. You seem wise enough, just sharing my thoughts.

5. Let me try to get my mind around this:
So even if the "Supreme" court has made this terrible ruling, then a couple of things should logically follow.

1. Each corporation should logically represent 1 person. Hello Mr. Exxon
2. I, as a person, am limited in the amount of contributions I can donate to a candidate or political party in a fiscal year, (I thought it was $2,500.00 total)
3. So then it logically follows that a corporation having the same rights I have as a person, should be bound by the same contribution limits. Mr.Exxon can only contribute $2,500.00 total in a given year. Given this logic, this should be a good thing, but I have a feeling that this is nothing more

THAN A FUCK JOB PERPETRATED AGAINST THE AMERICAN PEOPLE BY SOME CONSERVATIVE THIEVES ON THE SUPREME COURT!

They should be tried as the fucking traitors they are, found guilty, and hung.

7. Yep, I can't afford a lobbyist or have enough money
to run national TV ads.

11. There is a Thom Hartmann video (and I believe it is posted here at DU)
whereby the discussion involves actions and legislative attempts at limiting the damage that can be done while the long process of trying an amendment is underway. The process of seeking an amendment will probably produce some legislative victories along the way like the attempt to get the ERA amendment through produced.
