Summary: Cenk uses a movie clip with Kurt Russel and Billy Bob Thornton to hilarious effect WRT recent elections. Cenk is excited to (finally) see President Obama really address some of the underlying issues with the financial system/banks. Cenk also wrote a new blog today for the Huffington Post which explains how Obama should get even tougher to do some real bipartisanship: .

PS---Check out (and subscribe to) our new channel, . As the name suggests, it's all great interviews with the likes of Katrina Vanden Heuvel, Arianna Huffington, economist William K Black, Media Matters reps, various journalists and reporters and much more.

4. Great commentary.
I'm not excited by Obama's statement because as Cenk says, Obama gives great speeches and then . . . . . . . . . . No action.

I am skeptical about whether Obama can follow through on what he has proposed.

When he made his statement about the banks, Volcker was standing at his side. I did not see Bernanke, Geithner or Summers although they may have been there.

And that's the rub. It is very difficult for a president to fire a cabinet member especially after only the first year.

Paul O'Neill left some way into GWB's administration. In fact Bush lost his best people including Colin Powell.

But Obama's hiring and firing has to pass through the Senate.

Obama's problems with his financial advisors in the cabinet remind me of Abraham Lincoln's problems with General McClellan.

McClellan refused to attack. His hesitancy may have cost many, many lives.

Obama needs a team now that is focused on preventing a recurrence of the economic disaster of 2008 and that can focus the country especially small businesses optimistically on growth. The banking behemoths must be engaged and Obama needs generals who are willing, able and unafraid of that difficult task.

If Obama does not do what Lincoln did and fire the recalcitrant members of his team, his inaction will cost the country a lot. If Obama finds the courage, or if the Geithner, Summers, Bernanke team work with him to put the too-big-too-fail banks and their mega-bonuses, excessive gambling, arrogance and greed in their proper places in our society, then he will succeed as a president and be remembered as a man who saved our country.

6. Here's the deal, you dont throw down on corps, unless you intend to go to war.
Obama has chosen war. If you badmouth them in public, as Obama has, they will ruin you. Obama has already thrown down.

And if you havent noticed, all dems are ready to throw down. It's on. At long last. Direct confrontation, class wise.

7. well at least with the brown victory it has to be
apparent to all that the war is now in the open. I sincerely hope that Mr. O really knows how to throw an effective counter assault.
