1. I hope Cenk is right on this.
It will be entirely determined by how Democrats interpret Brown's win.

The M$M is telling Democrats they had better move right and embrace bipartisanship. We know this is ridiculous, but do office holding Democrats?

4. When the DLC, New Dems have been saying the same thing you attribute to corporate media
I expect the conservative among us will just shake it off like a duck and water and it should come as no surprise.

3. Hope he's right.
But as we all know, the Republicans are the masters of spin, sound bites, and slogans, all of which goes a long way toward influencing public opinion. If Dems/progressives don't do a better job at PR and education, we're screwed. And yes, the message needs to be "dumbed down" for the masses. Most Americans have the attention spans of gnats, or their lives are already so complicated and busy, they don't have the time or interest in really finding out what's going on.

5. There are competing themes in the Dem party, corporate and populist
Can you really blame "Most Americans" when their government fails them and they are stuck in passive mode and hanging on to middle class by a fingernail or lower class without a ladder?

True, most do not know 30+ years of conservative economics have devastated America and Dem Leadership is unwilling to acknowledge a liberal response even exists.

That "attention spans of gnats" may at least in part be a defense mechanism.

Nearly all of us are stuck in passive mode when it comes to government. And the masters and technocrats would like to keep us that way.

This is not directed at you but many at DU. Stop blaming the gawd damn victims.

6. Yes, Cenk, you are merciful! :)
I really hope you're right on this, Cenk, and Brown's election marks a turning point in the Obama administration.

I don't have a great deal of confidence in that, but I'm willing to hope.
