23. My problem with Obama isn't what he's "doing"

it's the people he's surrounding himself with. People like Geithner, Bernanke, and Summers who seem to be primarily concerned with how much loot Wall Street can stash away while being totally oblivious to the plight of Main Street.

As a small family farmer who worked for and contributed to the Obama campaign I am absolutely devastated and disheartened by his appointments in the area of agriculture. From the very top, appointing Tom Vilsack as Secretary of Agriculture. Vilsack is in bed with Monsanto and is a strong proponent of more GMO crops. Obama has appointed former Monsanto lobbyist Michael Taylor as a senior adviser to the Food and Drug Administration Commissioner on food safety. Add in Islam Siddiqui, a pesticide industry lobbyist, appointed to the position of Chief Agricultural Negotiator, Office of the U.S. Trade Representative and the list of Obama agriculture appointees is less than stellar.

That's my major problem with Obama, the people he's selecting for key appointments don't seem to be consistent with the campaign motto "change we can believe in."

You know what I did. I watched and listened to the primaries. I decided that candidate Obama's message resonated with me more than the others. I voted in my states primary. I discussed my decision with my wife and friends. I again chose Obama over his republican opponent.

Since then I have held up my end of the bargain as a husband, father and citizen.

How about President Obama uphold some of the promises he made me.
