I love this YouTuber's comment:

the executive producer likely stormed the production studio screaming to take it off air.

What utter domination by Obama.

If they had changed the word "lecture" to schooling, they'd have been correct.

Fox Cuts Away From Obama-GOP Conversation In Order To Get A Head Start On Attacks: He Was ‘Lecturing’

By Amanda Terkel on Jan 29th, 2010

President Obama held a candid, http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/01/29/obama.gop/?hpt=T2">face-to-face conversation with House Republicans today at their http://thinkprogress.org/2010/01/29/boehner-lies-lobbyists/">annual retreat in Baltimore. After Obama gave his remarks, he had to answer tough questions from Republican lawmakers about health care, the budget, taxes, and other issues. Although the riveting exchange lasted over an hour, both CNN and MSNBC aired the entire event.

However, at 1:11 p.m. ET — when there was still 20 minutes left to go — Fox News decided to cut away and begin its commentary. Anchor Trace Gallagher’s immediate reaction was that Obama was being too “combative” and “lecturing” — like he was at his State of the Union address. Correspondent Bret Baier agreed, saying there was “a little bit of that,” but conceded that there was a “decent…give-and-take on the specifics.”

Unsurprisingly, Fox is echoing a Republican talking point. Several Republicans complained that Obama was lecturing them in his State of the Union speech:

– “I felt like he was admonishing Congress and certainly lecturing Republicans, accusing us of being an obstructionist party, when what it is we’re about is trying to focus on the issue, which is control the spending and let’s go about creating an environment for jobs.” — http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0110/32192.html">House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA)

– “The address was ‘more of a lecture, I thought, in tone,’ (Cornyn) said, but Obama ‘gives a great speech.’” — Rep. John Cornyn (R-TX)

– “In a word, ‘lecture’ (is what I thought of Obama's State of the Union speech). I think there was quite a bit of lecturing, not leading in that, as opposed to Governor McDonnell’s follow-up comments, quite inspiring his connection with the people. He absolutely gets it, he understands government’s appropriate role.” — Sarah Palin's word salad*, 1/27/10, Faux news

Not only did Fox cut away from the Obama-GOP exchange, but the network then brought on Rep. Peter King (R-NY) — who was still in New York “because of the whole 9/11 controversy with the trials” — about 10 minutes later to start commenting on Obama’s performance. A look at what was happening on all the networks at that time:

1. Two Hours of Coverage
I really enjoyed him, and I can see why FAUX took him off, as he was really doing well, looking reasonabl and cooperative, and mostly he was doing it all without a teleprompter. As we all know, according to FOX, for a year now, Obama apparently can't talk without his teleprompter, and on their own network, they were putting up proof of their own lies.

4. rumor has it that they had the teleprompter built into his eyelids

How else could he be speaking intelligently without one. It has to have been done in Hawaii over the Christmas break by the CIA. They are in on it. Everything is a conspiracy. (buying more guns and bibles)

12. Yeah, the teleprompter thing.
One thing I have learned about the GOP is whatever they accuse someone else of they are guilty of themselves. In this case George W Bush. He was embarrassingly inarticulate, even to educated Republicans. Of course they would never admit it.

18. Sarah Palin is inarticulate and incoherent too, and look how they love her!
I hope you aren't expecting conservative "ideas" to be consistent or make any sense. Ain't gonna happen.

5. Do the publicans have ANYONE
Who's not a beady eyed little asshole who can come out and say anything truthful?

OK, beady eyes are their lot in life.

And truth is not their strong point, and not even on their wish list.

But, still, WTF is up with that? Are their Fans so brainwashed? Yes, I fear. Hell, I know.

19. You raise a good question.
In the past, though I disagreed strongly with the lethal conservative policies that have left our nation in taters, there were a few conservatives (Wm F Buckley for one) who presented an actual, yes, "intellectual" defense of conservative positions, without the lies, obscenities, obstruction, and name-calling that today's conservatives feel are necessary to make their points.

Where did all the "good conservatives" go? I am hard pressed to name a single currently active republican or conservative (sorry, Colin, you've disappeared) who is not a venal, pandering, pseudo-Christian corporate stooge. They all seem to lie constantly now. They all seem uncooperative, immature, and disturbingly power-mad.

Jeez. There must be one decent conservative politician or commentator on the current scene that we can respect and deal with. Why can I not come up with his or her name? Bueller? Help!

7. Republicans and Fox News don't really like it when
People are too smart. They were, after all responsible for "dumbing down America" during the Bush Years.

Smart people are a threat. When Obama was "lecturing Republicans" they had to cut away, because they can't have him looking too smart or worse yet, smarter then the Republicans on Television.

When ever anything complicated comes on, in the news, they have to turn it over to people like Glenn Beck, or Sean Hannity to put it into the simplest terms possible for the tea baggers to understand.

Fox News has been on the anti Intellectual campaign for the nation, because after all, smart people are really just "trouble makers" for the Republican party.

10. Isn't it interesting
When 'Saint' Ronnie Reagan gave 'good speeches' he was called 'the great communicator' by his Republican cronies but when Obama (or for that matter Clinton) do some communicating it's 'oh, yeah, I guess he gave a good speech'.

On another point, do you think the Republicans should just quit talking in complete sentences (Yes I know Bush Jr. doesn't anyway) and just use the key words in their talking points. For example, on health care they can just say 'socialist government takeover' on the meeting 'lecturing and combative'. Since the rest of what they say is useless BS by just using the important terms, which is really all they want people to remember anyway, we wouldn't have to listen to each of them blather on with the same old ridiculous and identical talking points.
