4. Like toilet plungers
In fact, if there was ever a hat for the Tea Party folks, it would be this.

5. Tea party folks should be honest it's about race not policy
The signs that are seen at these klan rallies alone would earn the tea party a spot in the racist category, seriously President Obama with white face, President Obama as a witch doctor with a bone through his nose, the birth certificate crap and the Washington Zoo has a lying African Lion and the White House has a lying African. And look at the people who attend these rallies mostly men, mostly white and mostly old as hell. A point I hit tea baggers with are where was this outrage from 2003-mid 2008? Bush spent more than any other president before him combine, he expanded government and he spend money like a teenage boy with a credit card at EBgames. Yet Dick Armey and Freedom Works didn't say a peep nor did Glenn Beck incite a movement against President Bush.

And their hate for President Obama is amazing, granted they hated President Clinton too but this brand of hate towards President Obama is so hot it could melt Iron Man and I would bet alot of those people you saw in that documentary "Right America feeling Wrong" are tea baggers. I wish they just say what they really want to say we hate that N-word while it might not be socially acceptable at least it's honest than we don't like President Obama because of A,B,C when it was 3 years ago they didn't mind A,B,C when George W.Bush president.

6. Yes, there are being used.
The Republicans used the Religious Right to win elections, and then betrayed them (thankfully). They can't play that card again, so have decided to exploit the Tea Party outrage instead. It's hard to tell what the Tea Party crowd is really about because they have so many loony tunes in the crowd.

7. The problem is Thom is that you are too smart for them.
And while you know all about what is really happening because you have read a lot, the audience for the right wing noise machine have not and have only talking points that are the dog whistle for the white anger.

But having said that I do not consider your efforts at educating them worthless....in fact they are very valuable because you do reach them whether they know it or not, or whether they show it or not....Keep up the good work.

8. You got that right, zeemike.
Thom has history and data. All that bozo he was debating could do was parrot Limbaugh talking points that have no foundation.

The reason why things are where they are today is because the RW rhetoric had gone unchallenged for so long and a significant percentage of the U.S. population now believes that all of that RW rhetoric is fact. Things like trickle down economics, "free trade" and so on. These people could see right in front of them that it's not fact, but it's so ingrained in their minds that they just try to ignore any rebuttal to those beliefs.

Keep up the good work, Thom.

9. I think it was Mark Twain that said.
A lie can travel around the world before truth can get it's pants on.
But truth does eventually get it's pants on....and that is what Hartman and others are doing.
