I was an appellant in an appeal heard by Sonia Sotomayor in the United States Second Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan. Huminski v. Town of Bennington, Vt., 111 Fed.Appx. 643, No. 03-7036., 2004 WL 2490 (2d Cir. November 05, 2004) The issue was does a conflict of interest between a police officer and his best friend, the prosecutor, violate due process. In an earlier unrelated case the entire prosecutor’s office recused because of the same conflict. The prosecutor issued a written threat that I would be charged with crimes if I filed lawsuits against the prosecutor and his friend. Also known as extortion and obstruction of justice. Finally, the prosecutor engaged in a plea agreement specifying that a federal civil case be dismissed against himself and his best friend. Also know as acceptance of a bribe.

Sonia Sotomayor found no constitutional problems and further failed to report the misconduct set forth in the case as required by attorney and judicial ethical cannons.

1. One might think you were a bit of a kook.
Not me, surely. But one might be forgiven.

2. A little research might tend to reinforce that opinion

considering that The Google reveals, among other things, a bit of a crusade against Sotomayor, including a posting by on a blog by legendary wingnut Andy Martin wherein he (Martin) claims Sotomayor is a closeted lesbian, and Internet rants elsewhere containing accusations that Howard Dean appointed corrupt judges, not to mention years and years of pro se litigation, mostly unsuccessful. But heck, what do I know?

3. Indeed. But we would certainly never point that out.
It might be taken as offensive, and we'd never. :D

4. No. That would be impolite.
We'd never suggest that a rant about a six-year-old lawsuit would be at all odd.
