BTW in EVERY private multipayer system, like Switzerland and the Netherlands health insurance is compulsory because of adverse selection. there is no other way to run a private for profit system.

one would only hope they are stupid enough to run against the mandate. then we can agree with them and call their bluff to make them vote to repeal or ammend that portion of the bill which most of us on the left hate as well. get them to support the public option too, or even single payer.

They forced the Dems to get rid of any public option and now they can run on that in November. They will play to the angry crowd that is mandated to buy from private insurance.

The Republicans are pulling out all the stops, lies, phony documents, even pretending he cares & understands and to be for the public option so progressive Dems might vote against it, anything to try and stop the bill & the democrats from succeeding.

This particular republican, Shadegg, despises health care reform, absolutely hates the public option, as well as Social Security, Medicare, unemployment insurance and the minimum wage.

Each republican is trying a different tactic to try and stop the Dems from getting 216 votes on Sunday.
