1. Europe is more evolved in general no doubt

The problem with teaching for skills here in the U.S., while a
great idea, is that our manufacturing has been decimated here,
i.e. outsourced, since the early '90s via globalization and
"free trade".  Until we get busy investing in new
industry here and repairing/upgrading our infrastructure (very
badly needed), plus change "free trade", which is
making the corporate plutocracy rich (the very group that was
spoken of), to "fair trade", what point is there in
training people to be cashiers and food servers?  These
low-paying service jobs seem to be what's left in our
unfortunately turning-into-a-banana-republic republic.
