This is exactly how House and Senate Republicans have acted since President Obama took office. This is exactly why we as Democrats cannot afford to sit out the November elections and let the Tea Party crowd put more of these clowns into office. Our country's middle class and poor simply cannot afford another minute of the policies of these self-serving slimeballs.

2. When they don't get their way,
they scream and attack.
There's absolutely nothing rational in Republicanism. Nothing.
I really think the Republican party will be dead within another generation. As a political entity, its time is over.
I do think there will be a re-alignment around the issues of social justice and multiculturalism.
In the future, those who are in favor of control by a multicultural corporatist elite will be the conservatives.
Those who believe in the protection of American law for the people specifically (instead of corporately) and social justice will be the new liberals.
The conflict will be between the respect for the historically-proven frailty of humanity versus a blind reverence for the judgment of corporate elites.
It's certainly no accident that education has been one of the first casualties of our progression into the new globalist world.
Elites need sheep like you need air.

5. The original video...
Was a commercial that ended "Use Condoms". Some people thought it was tasteless, but I thought that it was perfect for this kind of re-purposing. I didn't post it on my main YouTube account, because I teach high school and have my tutorial videos there and it would not have been appropriate material for such an account. Besides which, I live and work in a very conservative part of NY and such a statement would have led to people trying to get me fired. Conservatives love the First Amendment, unless you disagree with them. :)

7. The original video cracked me up...
...but only for a minute.

See this sort of behavior all too often while shopping...even if you give the kid some slack on being tired, hungry, overstimulated and has just...had...ENOUGH.

Every time I see something like this I'm more grateful to (and for!) my cats...

19. Children reflect what they see and learn...
No more and no less.

I have 5 children and not one of them has EVER done anything remotely close to that, so to paint all children (and by extension all parents of them) as over-indulged, under-disciplined maniacs is insulting and the kind of condescension that fuels conservative resentment.

It is possible to be liberal without being a caricature or a stereotype yourself...

Note the response of the 'adult' was like totally that of the Democratic Party. The 'adult' did _NOTHING_. The child's behavior was reprehensible.

It is a terrible sight to see.

12. Perfect.
The favorite words of conservatives are "no" and "me", one-syllable words of two letters each, which "coincidentally" are the same words favored by 2-year-olds.

The only time conservatives don't remind me of screaming toddlers is when they remind me of fourth-graders squabbling on the playground. I can't think of a single current republican who acts like an adult. What kind of opposition party is this, anyway?

This is EXACTLY how Republicans act when they are not in charge and must direct all their energy into getting their way.
(HT to DU'er gadjitfreek)

Adding to this problem is that certain "Democrats" enable these Republican tantrums at every opportunity.

Elections will have consequences.

30. Nice comediy relief, unfortunately, the Democrats are just as petulant.
Sure, you can paint deranged behaivior of the Republicans like this, but it is unfair to single them out, as they have just as much support from the DLC Blue Dogs.

As far as the video goes, it is truly sad and disturbing that this behavior actually exists in children, and it is caused purely by poor diet, lack of supervision by parents, and poor education on part of parents and the corporate educational system.

Both Parents are forced to work mostly, and are in many cases, are just as petulant as the children they raise, teaching their children how to behave this way. This is all learned behavior.

Just because the Democrats quietly refuse to make any progress is no reason to vote for them. Just because the Republican's choose to be obstructionist does not automagically disqualify qualified candidates that may have an R behind their name, such as Ron Paul, which I am afraid is the only one that seems to be able to utter a few words of truth now and then.

The facts are that neither party has anything desired by the smal (d) democrats that have been thrown under the bus, so it makes little difference to try and use fear tactics to coerce small d democrats to vote for the Big (D)LC democrats who continue to screw them.

I'm, not falling for this tactic, and neither should anyone else.

If you do, you actually think that we have an honest Governmental System, when the facts point out again and again that it is just a facade, marketed by Hollywood, and promoted by Corporate interests.

The fact is that the corrupted government is going to collapse, regardless of who holds power. I'm going to let the universe decide this fall, and in 2012. I have no intention of voting for any democrat other than Kucinich in 2012 unless some miracle occurs.

45. One of my refrains is that the DEM party fails to "connect the dots"....
Edited on Sat Aug-07-10 01:33 PM by Smarmie Doofus
.... for the average voter.

The average citizen is not particularly astute in a political sense. He/she is not analytical. He/she does not think in political terms for the most part.

Therefore.... he/she hears about "gridlock " in congress; he /she thinks "bah. politicians." In response DEM leaders mumble cliches like "post-partisan", bla, bla, bla.

HST called the GOP " gluttons of privilege and greed." FDR was almost as blunt. Can you imagine anything that blunt, or INSTRUCTIVE or *TRUE* escaping the lips of the current president?

Your kid with the bag of "tax cuts for the wealthy" communicates fairly complex ideas .... that are never really understood by the average media consuming voter.... with a clarity bordering on genius.

Sign you up for what? I guess as a media consultant. That video embarrasses the hell out of the cliche-filled pap that most dem candidates will pay top dollar for this fall.
