Robert Gibbs says that he isn't sorry for his comments about the Democratic base needing to be drug tested. As Ed Schultz points out, these are the people who knocked on doors, worked campaign rallies, and donated money to get President Obama elected, and Gibbs thinks that it is just fine to insult the Democratic base. Ed is "Fired Up" over these comments and offers his one-of-a-kind commentary on the subject.

a press secretary who is supposed to give the facts and OBAMA'S opinions on subject. You can see that Gibbs thinks he is the center of attention and his opinions are what matters. Remember Ari Fleisher he didn't last long with Bush.

7. Gibbs is singularly the WORST press secretary in my lifetime

... and I'm 66 years old! In an era when we face the relentless and unprecedented character assassination of a President by the opposing party, Gibbs' "cute" and "joking" persona has been devastating to this administration's narrative. This guy has the bully pulpit every day and instead of using it to support Obama's agenda, he wastes it away with either being in a snit or practicing his stand-up routine. Gibbs is a big part of the reason Obama doesn't get the credit he's due for his achievements in the last 18 months. I hope this current incident will start a process of getting this joker out of the seriously important role of being THE MOST DIRECT LINK BETWEEN THE PRESIDENT'S WORDS AND THE PEOPLE. Amen.

12. The thing that cracks me up here is that people are acting like

this was some sort of off-the-cuff, thoughtless statement. This kind of casual insult to the left is something they do regularly, and intentionally. It's part of their larger political pitch.

The Obama Administration has been sending signals like this one since before his Inauguration. They want to make it clear that they are not part of "the left" and will not work with us. These signals are intended for big money interests-- not you and me. Team Obama doesn't give a shit about you and me and our support. They care about impressing the Wall Street crowd. That's where the cash is.
