I'm one of those Christians who's broken ranks...I am "supposed to" care about "The Great Commission," about signing everyone I can up for the "team," but I don't. Christian church. Even as a child I felt there was something unreal about what I was being taught. By the time I was 30 I had pretty well doped it out through searching for something that was akin to the truth. Concluded that Jesus was an unusual man whose spiritual life was edited by charlatans who have used it throughout the centuries for political power and control. Other than that, yes, lets get down to brass tacks and get to work improving our future. The second coming is long past due so it is up to us to take care of our world.

and almost fell of the treadmill. Obama is a Muslim because his father was, and American Muslims aren't truly Muslims because they don't follow Sharia law??? But American Christians don't believe in slavery or the like that can be found in the Bible, so are they truly Christians?? Who can follow such a thought process?

I am deeply saddened and disturbed by what he is preaching here -- hatred of a religion. We have no hope whatsoever of peace or understanding or respect if our religious leaders can't do better than this.

from religion. He is right. Graham is a prime example of a religious agitator, contrary to the basic principles of Christianity. He is not leading people to the path of righteousness but giving Christianity a bad name in Christ's name. I don't have faith in the second coming of Christ but I wish he'd come on down.

16. Franklin Graham is some kind of a preacher. He claims the only

way you can become a Christian is through confession,asking forgivesness etc. I guess baptism is meaningless. I thought Graham is a Baptist. So should Obama have to prove now that he is a Christian? I assume, perhaps, that somewhere along the line Obama was baptised. That would be easy enough to prove. I have known people who claim to be Christians who have never even been baptised.
Jesus, this sort of religious political posturizing is getting damn tiring. Jesus Christ !

21. What counts for me is whether a person is a good human being.

What counts for me in a President - or any other elected official for that matter - is whether that President is a good human being who is intelligent, competent and willing to learn from her/his mistakes so that s/he can do the job that s/he was elected to do.

A person's choice of religion - or lack or it - should not even enter into the equation.

A "Christian" like Franklin Graham is not a good human being, IMHO.
