His stuff never caught on with me. Not particularly heavy, just some cheap cheesy generic hard-ish rock anthemic fluff to appeal to the meathead/redneck crowd, with some ego-stroking, too-long solos by him. Even in the 70's he was an outspoken RW douchebag, though I agree with his stance on guns. ( flame retardant suit on )

What's funny is how my father, always a stodgy RW ideologue, now takes him up as some sort of public folk hereo, even though he has always HATED rock music ( especially hard rock ) with a furious passion.
