Everyone (including tighty-righties) should read about Right Wing Authoritarianism. Since reading Altemeyer's book, it is every bit as difficult and frustrating to have a conversation with right wingers, but I feel better knowing that there is a psychological issue at hand.

How would she like it if someone held up a sign that said "church supports pedophilia" where she wants to worship? I bet she also believes Iraq was behind the 9-11 attacks and that the reason Iran gave up all those hostages was because they were afraid of Reagan. sigh.”
