http://www.splcenter.org/get-informed/news/splc-s-new-anti-bullying-film-and-teaching-kit-now-available-to-educators-for-onli Online ordering is now available for educators interested in obtaining a free copy of the Southern Poverty Law Center’s latest Teaching Tolerance film – Bullied: A Student, a School and a Case that Made History.
Bullied tells the story of Jamie Nabozny, a student who stood up to his anti-gay tormentors and filed a federal lawsuit against his school district. The suit led to a landmark court decision finding that school officials could be held accountable for not stopping anti-gay abuse.
The film and accompanying educational guide offer lessons for both students and educators, showing viewers that anti-gay bullying is wrong. It will help students recognize the harm caused by bullying and help teachers and school administrators understand their responsibility to help stop the harassment of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students.
