Growing up in the Sixties when the media (with it's Fairness Doctrine, for instance) was a pretty credible institution...It was like.."Man..It's really over"!...When a guy like THIS is in the White House -- reputedly 200 times, only 150 on official "business" -- and NO one gives a "peep" on it?...It's decidedly A Cold Day In HELL...In other words...This ain't your father's America.

To say that the "silence was deafening" was an understatement...Hello?..A Gay male HOOKER with a WEBSITE and NO credible press credentials??...It was like "whaaaaat"??...You're NOT going to jump on this like the pack of wolves we know you are?

It still amazes me. I kept talking to people about it...I asked.."Can you IMAGINE what would happen if this was BILL EFFING Clinton???....The guy would be dead or disowned or fucking EXILED by now...There would have been a Book, a Movie Deal and possibly a Revolution!

The importance of this media "oversight" cannot, in my estimation, be overstated.

The only "name calling" I used was Islamophobic "Reichwing fear and hatemongers". If you want me to go into detail about who they are and why they can be rightfully described as fear and hatemongering Islamophobes I can make a list with quotes for you.

Anyway, I'll get the transcript later and point out to you exactly what I meant about the sympathy for the Islamophobes.

It sounds to me that 'sympathizers for the Islasmophobes David Gergen and Ari Fleischer' refers to Gergen and Fleischer as Islamopobes, to which I object. Maybe I misunderstand.

To my (and our) great distress, there are plenty of Islamophobes and hate mongers around; I don't see Gergen among them, or Fleischer either, and it grieves me when we appear to sweep too broadly, thereby damaging our otherwise sound and powerful points of view.

The country was focused on the economy when this happened. Reptiles are famous for diverting the public's attention to bullshit. All I remember is Sarah Palin writing on her Facebook and it getting media attention:

"Many Americans, myself included, feel it would be an intolerable and tragic mistake to allow such a project sponsored by such an individual to go forward on such hallowed ground."
