Candidates have been in their districts, making nice to likely mid-term voters. They're more scarce than general election voters, and typically a more polarized bunch. What if there were more of them and more low-income people, particularly women, were in the mix?

In a country where 131 million people voted in the 2008 presidential election, a few million more voters sprinkled across the states, just might make a difference. In a handful of swing states, voting rights groups have sued and won voting rights for hundreds of thousands of low-income people, two-thirds of them women, in the last few years.

3. What programs?
You can't even describe his programs as "New Deal Lite." His Economic Stimulus Bill was described as being "market friendly." Well, looks like Wall Street got thrown a lifeline at the expense of Main Street. The Stimulus Bill should have gone aggressively toward creating jobs from the bottom, up. Giving "incentives" to corporations and big business only gives them incentives to pocket the money. I would have thought that Obama, of all people, would have known better than to be swayed by a "trickle down" economic bill, but I guess listening to the likes of Rahm Emmanuel will do that to you. Is that guy Rasputin? Obama should have come in like a lion while he had the wind at his back when he first got voted in. Instead, he came in like a timid lamb with an anemic stimulus bill, listening to the drivel about market forces helping to come in and take over what the stimulus bill didn't cover. What market forces? Home building, which usually drives most recoveries, was in shambles due to the real estate crash. TARP money, which was supposed to help banks start lending again, was instead used by the banks to buy each other out and perform mega-mergers and they're STILL not lending in spite of record profits. The private sector has no juice to jump start the economy. It's shot it's wad and only the government can create jobs now. But, it can't do it with My Little Barbie Stimulus Bills. It needs a massive New Deal type one. But, Obama's lost the momentum. Now the Repukes own the arguments and come the fall, they're going to let unemployment lapse again, they're going to defund Medicaid at the state levels and generally screw us all.

4. Yep and all the while
Claiming that Obama was dragging the country toward socialism and they stopped it.... Everythig associated with Obama will be declared Radical leftwing and the country will take a hard right turn and Obama will most likely go along for the ride...

We should have rallied in the streets to support a Progressive agenda.... We may be done in for a generation or more...
