That Ben Harper song sends goosebumps up and down my spine and gives me tears of joy and hope- but, note for note, and word for word, it's been done before. He's done it right- and that what makes it seem "new".

ALL music is derivative. There's nothing new (except maybe that god-awful auto tune) and that's okay.
