Was he at a retirement home? Old people are suckers (that's coming from an old person) for golden age mythology and biblical allusions. They've got one foot in the grave, the other on a banana peel, they live of government subsidies and are afraid of tax increases on other people to pay for those benefits because they're afraid if those people people actually pay for those benefits the elderly will loose them. That's why they're susceptible to shysters like this. Their mental faculties are too diminished to make rational decisions or to cast informed votes. The whole problem with American politics is that old people vote, young people don't, and it's getting worse.

5. Gingrey's a fraud

And the old people aren't afraid of people paying or not paying taxes. In this crowd, they're afraid black people will get benefits that they won't get or they'll lose their benefits to black people. they don't want "their" taxes to pay for "those" people.

6. I worked for many tears at a nursing/retirement home. You are

so wrong, and I might say bigotted, when you make derogatory general statements about elderly people. The majority of retired elderly that I came in contact with on a daily basis were well informed, mentally active and not so surprisingly progressive in their political outlook.
The problem with voters is: too many voters are ignorant or disinterested in leadership, unwilling to think for themselves. This includes people of all ages. Shame on you.
An apology is in order here to those elderly that have lived their lives supporting this country, have and have done their jobs as responsible citizens.
I might say I am 81 years old and will venture to say I know more about people and politics than you ever will unless you drop your bigotted ways and open your eyes.

but you are clearly unfamiliar with Gingrey's district--which is where I live. I also have great respect for the elderly-it wasn't their age I complained about--it was bigotry.
