2. I laughed too, then got mad at that shithead HANNITY for making it appear....
That the Pres had said that taxes would go up...a lot. Clever editing, leaving out the part that said 'the previous administration fixed it so that taxes would go up.'

Of course he was only following his Fuhrer's commands.

5. That's classic body language from a liar...
The reflexive looking away or down from the audience or person you are speaking to is a DEAD GIVEAWAY that you are LYING!

17. Fairness Doctrine back on deck would stop all this fraud because the other side would be required to
state a opposing point of view alongside the liars pov.

quicker way to deal with fraud out the window needs to be put
back along with glass stegal.

6. I argue with people all the time about MSNBC, always the same thing too.
People who LOVE Faux Noise always tell me that what they do on the right is no different than what MSNBC does from the left, namely present things in a biased manner with a clear political bent. I always respond that they are incorrect and that there is NO COMPARISON to what Olbermann or Maddow does when stacked against Hannity and O'Reily, namely that facts are actually presented and then commented on over at MSNBC while at Fox, they just throw out an opinion and then bend the facts whatever way suits them best to fit that opinion.

Usually the conversation is then over...but I would LOVE to see MSNBC do straight up parodies of Faux a la Stewart on a nightly basis...Maddow usually does one or two a week, but its such fertile ground that it could be mined nightly instead!

7. Really! All MSNBC does is present the FACTS & backs them up with documentation.
I'm looking forward to the day when Fixed News hangs itself so badly that its viewers are too embarassed to admit they ever watched it -- if it doesn't destroy the country first.

Good job, Jon Stewart!

12. The problem is....
They never believe that Fixed News is wrong. They just say you are lying. It is stunning to get into discussions with these people. How many still think that Obama is not a U.S. born citizen? It is brainwashing on a grand scale.

10. Isn't this a huge deal?
I don't understand why Hannity isn't being hounded by questions and answering for challenges to his journalistic integrity.

Shouldn't somebody be putting the pressure on Hannity about this?

Hannity does this ALL the time. It's why you don't see Hannity and "journalistic integrity" in the same sentence. As soon as anyone questions what they say - they exclaim that they are JUST ENTERTAINERS!!

15. question
His what? how can you question someone's "journalistic integrity" when they have no integrity and are not a journalist which latter would be the first position Fux noise and the fuxated would take.Shun Sannity is part of their opinion side and as such does not present the news and has no obligations to accuracy or objectivity. They're very careful to try to draw the line between their "news" function and their "opinion" side. Of course there's no line but the fuxated don't or won't see that.I truly believe that in the fullness of time Stewart and Colbert are both going to be recognized as masters of satire of Swiftian standing.I already consider Stewart the Mark Twain of our time,IMO a lot of his work is on par with things like Innocents Abroad.

I can't believe he can't be taken down after this blatant misrepresentation. Somebody should be pressing this issue. It's just blantant inaccuracy and lying. He should be done.

14. Hannity in many ways is even worse than Limbaugh, Beck or Levin.
He is truly the scum of the earth. OK, so are those others, and many more. That was low; typical Hannity stunt.

he may be saving this country from itself.

28. You are 110% correct. Stewart has been important in ways the jokes make it easy to overlook.
For way to long he was the only light in a sea of haze and darkness, at least on the national scene.

Getting people to move those gears in the mind to ask "What the fuck?!?" a half hour a day, four nights a week has been both a miracle under the conditions and a service for which no matter how much he has made being on "The Professional Left", it is far from enough.

Making a dent in the don't ask no questions, keep your head down, and whoa shiny object of distraction mentality for a mass audience is a spark of hope that I'm very thankful for.

23. I suppose that's what it takes - people need to hate, hear what they want to hear & ready to believe
Edited on Sat Sep-11-10 04:25 PM by GreenTea
anything told to them over & over....but they are never ready to believe the truth, the facts or their own eyes....they rather hide their head in the sand, they have been programed to be so full of fear and republicans (Fox 'news" know exactly how to exploit their fear with lies, smears & distortions through manipulations and deception - making sure the sheep don't believe the facts or their eyes just conspiracy theory's even when everything points to the contrary.
