1. I was one of the 'children' of this speech and now I'm the 'grandfather'
JFK would be appalled that the legislation he proposed has only just passed.

3. I don't think the legislation JFK had in mind
has passed yet. Someday I hope it does.

5. How far our country has deteriorated since then.
I do not care if you believe in the bible, the quaran, the anything... money (and greed) is the root of ALL evil.
How in the f'ing holy hell can the so called "religious right" claim to "believe" and support a pure capitalistic society?
Damn it. Wake up you greedy bastards and the coat tail riders who (insanely) believe they are wealthy.
People before profits!!!! Wealth cannot be counted in dollars, only in hearts. Remove the sociopaths from any high-standing positions they have. It is not about politics either. I am sure that almost everyone over 30 was required to read "Gulliver's Travels" in school. Hey...it was an allegory...one that is very relevant in our time.
I suppose that now, it wouldn't be teaching to the test, if it was required reading.
We are watching our country implode. One group says if they can't have their way, they want it to happen. It will prove they are right. Another side, with a different agenda, agrees, to prove they are right.
Humanity dies not ideals....
