7. Unfortunately, that might not help in my district...

I live in NY-20. I worked very hard in last year's special election for Scott Murphy, a Democrat, who eventually replaced Kirsten Gillibrand, when she was appointed senator to replace Hillary Clinton. It was the closest of any congressional election, went on and on similar to Al Franken's. *sigh*

And now, he's up for re-election. I went to his campaign headquarters opening last week and he had some great things to say. Scott Murphy is not ideal, way too centrist for me, but he's intelligent, serious, hard working and is dedicated to doing the right thing. And in this traditionally Republican district (John Sweeney x(), we're fortunate to have him. But I'm really afraid he's going to lose against a RW challenger who has the backing of the likes of John Boehner, who came to the district to support him. Too many people will reject Scott Murphy out of hand, not because they dislike his policies, they don't know them, but just because he has a "D" by his name... :scared: :(
