1. Rand Paul has become a bonafide Corporate Republican.
In his speech, he ended it with a Plea--Don"t Punish
the Rich, We all work for rich people--Don't punish
the rich!!! Just after ecouraging Free Trade.

Whew I am dizzy --that did not take long.

Thanks so much for posting this, Lars. It's an interview between the brilliant Paul Jay and one of my favorites, Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, former Chief of Staff for Colin Powell. I was fortunate to see about nine videos in a row one day a few years back, with Col. Wilkerson lecturing to a group and telling some very juicy inside things about the Bush administration. I made up my mind then to watch/listen to/read anything Wilkerson had to say after that.

This video didn't disappoint. Wilkerson ventures some fascinating and likely ideas about what might happen over the next couple of years, and why it could be very different from what we might expect (if we don't understand Libertarians).

Paul Jay is another very interesting individual, one whom I just recently discovered but he also left me wanting more. So this video was a delight.

Having been a Libertarian at one time, I'm interested in what having both Ron Paul and his son in the House will be like, and with a number of Tea Partiers leaning Libertarian. Wilkerson sheds some light on one aspect of that. My own observation is Rand is very new and impetuous. He doesn't impress me but if he lets his brilliant father steer him, look out for what might happen. It could be half very bad for Dems (which Wilkerson didn't go into), but also half very good for us, which he does cover.

We'll be watching to see if the anti-war Libertarians hook up with the anti-war spending Republicans in the House, give some resistance to the pro-war Republicans. The anti-war factions might also get a connection to the anti-war Democrats in the Senate. We all must hope for that lest much worse happen. The really chilling part was his knowledge of and prediction about the possibility of war Iran. Once again his words had the ring of truth to them.

I can see how easily the American people (I'm dual cit located in FL now) could be led down that garden path. How soon we seem to forget. The powers that be (MIC/PENTAGON) could very easily take the 2 wars in the ME and shift to Iran. We already have bases, equipment and boots on the ground it doesnt seem to me that we'll be out of the area anytime soon - so a decade after invading Iraq - 2013-2014'ish we could easily go that direction. Lord help us (and I'm not religious) it's the last thing this country needs.

Cheers
Sandy

13. I agree completely and echo your wishes.
Thanks!

I do wish a lot more Americans were seeing this video. The average "man on the street" is way too ignorant about what is going on because we're used to being able to trust our government. It's hard for many to realize we've had a permanent shift in this country. I'm afraid we may have to fall on our faces for people to wake up -- the election sure supported that idea.

4. Love listening to Mr. Wilkerson. He's such a straight shooter
and reasonable guy. He is one Republican I would actually vote for.

11. Incredible isnt it? Although I find it hard to see him as a Republican but that is only
because he sits left of center of the current crop of creepy 'CONS.

Cheers

9. A big k&r for this vid. This man is very politically astute and clearly
knows his stuff about DC. He would make a great advisor - as someone else mentioned, I too would love to be one of his students.

Cheers
