He is a very respected and respectable journalist and TV
presenter. He has hosted a number of talk shows on most
Australian networks,currently Dateline on the mostly publicly
funded SBS [Special Broadcasting Service- clebrating 30 years
of diverse broadcasting) 

George started his professional life as a high school teacher
in Queensland during the 1970's

The 7pm project is a satirical look at the day's news.
Unfortunately it is also in competition with the mainstream
news broadcast from our own publicly funded and owned  ABC
(Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

We do Polite irreverence well in this country. But then you do
have the Rev Dr. Stephen T Colbert and John Stewart. Whom we
also can see nightly on our ABC.
